Makaan X mnjm
This collaboration is about breaking barriers and creating space. This night is about more than music—it’s about representation, community, and creative expression. We challenge industry norms, push boundaries, and create a space where our stories are heard, shared, and celebrated. Makaan is a record label and a space for amplifying the voices of marginalized, unseen, and unheard artists from SWANA+ and MENA regions. Makaan Records breaks down the barriers of borderlines, censorship, sanctions, and discrimination, particularly within the techno genre, by creating an inclusive platform for cultural exchange. mnjm is a Berlin-based label and event series platform. it refers to the first gay dating app offered in Arab countries amongst others (Manjam). Taking the inspiration from its decentralised approach towards non-western cultural heritage and bridging it with diverse sonic influences. mnjm brings periphery back to the center by highlighting emerging and established artists from the diaspora and beyond.

Makaan - first VA release
Makaan is now a record label, and I'm excited about our first album playing on a top-notch sound system I have ever seen. We're showcasing artists from Iran, and our upcoming EP (Extended Play) and VA (Various Artists) will highlight talent from regions with limited access to social media platforms due to sanctions and censorship. We aim to make our sounds visible, breaking borders so that artists from different parts of the world can be seen and heard. Join us for our first album release party, and let's make it a celebration to remember. @fold.ldn resident @alba_heidari has been making absolute scenes, delivering powerful cross- genre sets, with a deep understanding of d’n’b, breaks, hardcorte, hardtek, electro and even gothic industrial. We're thrilled to have Alba kick off the night at Makaan. No racism, no homophobia, no transphobia, straight friendly :) Fold operates a strict 21+ and ID check at the door policy. Physical ID is mandatory. Closest transport: - Star Lane - Canning town
